"Around the
Corner" - By Henson Towne
Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end,
Yet days go by and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.
And I never see my old friend's face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,
He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell.
And he rang mine. We were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.
"Tomorrow" I say "I will call on Jim"
"Just to show that I'm thinking of him."
But tomorrow comes - and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.
Around the corner! Yet miles away...
"Here's a telegram sir."
"Jim died today."
And that's what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner, a vanished friend.

Hi, I am Carmel McTague - my mother was Delia Lynskey from Ballyglass, Kilconnell Ballinasloe Co Galway. Your reference 152.163.252.232 - Patricia Schena from Mass. USA. I believe I met or heard about you from my first cousin Carmel Lynskey when you visited Ireland years ago. I now live in Castlebar Co Mayo and would like to know how your search has progressed. My grandfather was Peter Lynskey, and I had numerous aunts and uncles, Martin (died in troubles) Mary, Thomas, Jack went to Statten Island USA, Kitty to USA, Chris to USA, Peter (Carmel Lynskey's father), Paddy, Nonie, Delia (my mother) (all now passed away). First cousins too numerous to mention. My grandfather had a sister who went to USA (Mary Kate). Do you know of any other brothers or sisters my grandfather had? Carmel Lynskey is still living in Ballyglass the old family home. My mother seemed to think we had relations in Craughwell - another village in Galway ?? Any takers on some more info, or if you want some more from me, let me know.

Ive just read an entry in the guestbook by an Ann salisbury in Australia.I tried to send an email but it failed. The entry was from 2000 so she may have changed her address. My name is Anna Lynskey and I have a Lynskey family history book ,I think Ann has connections to my family. They originated from the Binghamstown,Ardmore area of Mayo.My family history goes back to my great great grandfather Philip Lynskey born about1810,his first born Patrick was 1839 died 1867.I would be interested to hear from any Lynskeys from that area.Anna Lynskey
