Year 8: Guest Log from Jan - Dec 2006
This is the webmaster, Chuck, wishing everyone a happy, safe and prosperous 2006. Thank you to everyone who continues to contribute to this site and Lynskey genealogy. Jan 01, 2006 - Chuck Lynskey
Hi My name is belinda lynskey and I live in canberra australia. im 10years old and in year 5
I have looked recently at your project spreadsheet and I can see a number of entries in the UK that are familiar from my tree. Eg Edwardi and Juliae Linsky could well be my great great grandparents from the names. You have a Thomas Lynskey to Winifred Unknown who could be Winifred Casey from my tree. Unknown Lynskey to Ann McHugh could be Mark Lynskey from my tree. Can I ask where these entries originated so that I can check to see if they do fit with my tree. I have a fairly extensive Lynskey tree from galway, settling in Birkenhead, and some parts of the family going on to New York. Regards Carla 2006-01-16: Hi Carla - please send me an email using the link at the top of this page titled "click here to send me a private email". Thank you, Chuck"
I have signed the guestbook before but have just found a lot more information on my Lynskey line and a bunch of new names on the genweb message board. The postings are from 2001-2003 and the person who posted them (last name Fleming) had a hidden email. I'm hoping to connect with family, as I'm sure now that there are tons of cousins out there. My gg grandmother was Mary Lynskey and her siblings that I know of were Delia Lynskey (Farrell), Nicholas Lynskey who settled in Utah and Michael Lynskey who I know nothing about. I believe her father was William Lysnkey and he had siblings: Tim, John, Walter (from Santa Cruz, CA), Mary (Gilmore), Bridget (Donnely) and Celia (Weber) and Catherine (Fleming). The family was from County Mayo Ireland. I have a census record from 1850 Ireland with the parish and village they lived in. If anyone is from this line (I know there are people who have visited this site) please contact me because I am going to Ireland in April to trace this family and need all the help I can get. I have several pictures of my line also. I would love to chat with anyone who's interested!!
Also a question: There is a Sarah Lynsky on the Campbell County Kentucky 1900 census. Her daughters are Rose, Pauline and Mary. I know these are ancestors because I have a picture of the 3 of them as children in the early 1900's. However, I think Sarah was my gg grandmother's sister in law but not sure which Lynskey she was married to. If anyone knows of Pauline, Rose or Mary all born in Ohio 1890, 1891, 1893 please contact me also.
sorry this is so long; I just got excited; been researching this line so long!
my email is firstname.lastname@example.org thanks, Shannon Thomas

She had two uncles,Martin and Francis who emigrated to New York, Francis joined the police force in NY, and did not marry, Martin settled in New Jersey, his wife was an O' Donnell from Charlestown,Co Mayo, not sure if they had any children. We believe both brothers changed their name to Lynch. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
Hello there! My daughter found this site while doing a geneology report for her social studies class. Boy were we surprised! Especially since she found her own name on the site. Of course it made sense, since I am a decendant of Martin Carroll Lynskey as well. I am named for my maternal grandmother who was a Lynskey. I believe I have met the author of this site on several occasions and hope to see him again sometime in the future...Also, his aunt now lives 3 miles from my house so I see her now and then. Do you know who I am Chuck? Love, an anonymous relative ps. If you figure out who I am, I'll send my email address...
Chuck here: hmmm.... Anne?

Hello Chuck! Guess who - Upstate New York
Hey Cuz, You guessed me! I can't find the info my daughter found, but maybe you have taken it off this site to protect privacy. You've done a great job here, and it is so cool to see all these Lynskeys. I was under the impression that Bride was the only Irish relative we had left, and I've always felt badly that I have yet to get to Ireland to meet her. Maybe someday... Hey, does she have email? It was so funny when my daughter kept telling me about this Charles Lynskey in Ireland who had all this information, and then she showed me our own family tree on the web. I was so confused until I finally saw the picture of you and realized that although I didn't know a Charles in Ireland, I did know a Chuck somewhere north of here. I do see Shirley now and then at church, but haven't gotten her over for a real talk yet. Peace. Anne firstname.lastname@example.org

Hi, I am trying to find information on Sarah (Carolon) Lynskey. She was born Dec. 23, 1861 in Ireland and came to U.S. about 1885. I believe she married one of my gg grandmother's brothers..either Patrick or Michael. She had 3 daughters named Rose, Pauline and Mary all born in Ohio between 1890-1895. In 1900, Sarah was living with her 3 girls in Newport, Kentucky and she was a widow. Then the next record I have is of her death in San Diego, CA in September 1943. I am trying to find out who her husband was and what happened to her 3 daughters, Rose, Pauline & Mary. I have a picture of the 3 girls dated 1900. Any info, please email me firstname.lastname@example.org
