Kia Ora Lynskey's !
I've just found this wee gem of a site! I am not a Lynskey but am descended from one!
My Nan was Leo Vernon Augustus's daughter! Anyway just thought I would say Hi! I've just recently started compiling our family tree so if anyone has any interesting tidbits I'd be happy to hear from you!

:)

Hello Lynskey Family! I just started tracing my husbands family tree and found out that his grandmother was Catherine Lynskey (She married Michael Fleming). I have no information on her, or any of his grandparents really besides a few names. If anyone could help, we would greatly appreciate it!

It has been sometime since I was last on this website and things have changed. I have a copy of the NZ file of Lynskey's from 2003 which I was able to help update. I have once again got interested in my husband's family tree after being contacted by another distant relative. How do I go about getting a copy of the NZ as it now stands, I am happy to update our little section of the file but need to know how it stands now.

Message for Heather Lynskey
Hello, Heather Lynskey, we are trying to get in touch with William, Millie, James or Helen Lynskey. They are our dads cousins, my name is Stephen Robson, my parents were George and Margaret Lillian Robson, we live in Newcastle upon Tyne in England. My parents with my sisters Dianne and Carol emigrated to King Township in Canada in 1953 and I was born in the Women's College hospital in Toronto in November 1954 and we returned to the UK in 1955.

Our parents died last year and we have been trying ever since to locate the house we lived in (rented) in CFRB Sideroad (now Bloomington) between Bathurst and Yonge. I have been told the house no longer exists due to massive development in that area since the 1970's but we would love to see the site of the new property. We have lots of photographs of people dad knew and also of the house and have contacted various agencies and groups including census, local authority, museums and archives and even genealogy groups on Facebook I even joined the "I grew up in aurora" group but even though scores of people have replied and been so kind and helpful we still don't know exactly where our old house was.

Our grandfather on our fathers side of the family had a sister called Isabella Robson who married Patrick Lynskey, they had 4 children in England and emigrated to Canada in 1928 where they had 2 more. Patrick, James, William, Sydney and Mary and Jennie too, we know Jennie (Senior) as she visited us in Newcastle with her husband Eric and sons, Wayne and Kevin in the 70's and mam used to mention Millie Lynskey too. All 6 must have been our dads cousins.

Again we hope you don't mind us contacting you we started off searching for our old home (and still are as we plan to visit the area in August 2017) but found we have descendants of the Robson family in Canada

Hi there,
I'm interested to know if my ancestor: John Lynskey born 1850 Hollymount, Mayo, Ireland, is of polish descent and possibly Jewish? Does anyone know if the Irish records have this information?
kind regards
Kate

My grandmother was Ocella Linskey from Bellaire, Ohio, she was the daughter of Thomas Linskey, who was the son of Patrick Linskey. According to family lore Patrick came from County Cork in the early 1850's to Ohio to work as a stonemason for the Bellaire railroad bridge which still spans the Ohio. Any information on Patrick Linskey would be appreciated.
